The Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha and his Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang want all those who are not certified teachers to refrain from teaching learners.

According to them, those who were teaching using online methods and are not certified teachers must be arrested.

Anyone purporting to be leading Revision Online without KICD guidelines and is not a registered teacher with T.S.C will be arrested and charged,"  Belio Kipsang Education Principal Secretary said.

However, the parents were not happy with the statement saying they were attacking Embakasi East MP Babu Owino over his Facebook live teaching.

"Babu Owino has not opened a school and is not spreading the virus but helping poor Kenyans, we have so many untrained teachers and the ministry is aware. Let's give credit where it's due, " says Richard Onyoka from Kisii.

"On many occasions I see policemen in parts of arid areas indulge in teaching and people have never complained," Said a teacher from Garissa who has seen Police in class in their region.

Parents, however, added that they were teaching the children at home while they are not certified. They demanded the CS to expound on the ministry statement over the untrained teachers.

" We have parents at home who are not certified to teach. We have guardians who are not trained too. Does it mean the children will have to wait for the trained teachers?" Loreto parent states.

" Some parent have no smartphones but depend on feature phones known as Mulika Mwizi. How will they access the KICD content?" Bukeko Wamalwa said.
