Why are the cases reduced even to nil at Kawangware?  It is revealed that the Dagoreti Mp Simba Arati wanted the names of those who are affected in his constituency to have direct support with their family during their difficult period.


However, after writing to the ministry of health(MOH) requesting on the list of names in his constituency, the cases of infection in the area have reduced abruptly.


"Dagoreti North MP Simba Arati wrote to MOH to be furnished with the list of COVID-19 persons from Kawangware so he can help take action in locking down the area MOH muted and there were no more cases reported from the area," his personal assistant said.

"Now because people have questioned Kawangware expect numbers to be reported from those areas again," he added.


Is there an explanation about what happened in Kawangware after the initial 13 positive cases? The CS said Kawangware was bound to be a Hotspot and the virus will spread like bush-fire. Did they stop testing or the virus just fizzled out from the area?

On 1st May, the CS health said there is danger in the area due to many contacts given by the infected. The numbers of contact tracing by the ministry surveillance team could multiply very fast.  He gave examples of infected cases.

"First Kawangware case, case 189 brought about cases 243, 244, 245, 258,269, and 270. All these are directly from case 189. Case 14 in Malindi brought about cases 15, 23, and 141," CS Mutahi Kagwe said.
