Kericho County Chief Public Relations Officer Timothy Kipngetich Kemei has died after a short illness.
Mr Kemei, a former journalist with the Nation Media Group, died at Kericho's Siloam Hospital following an asthma attack on Sunday morning.
Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony broke the news of his death early morning.
"Kemei developed breathing problems last night occasioned by his long history and struggle with asthma," stated Professor Chepkwony.
The governor said that efforts to restore breath to Mr Kemei at Siloam Hospital failed.
"He was an astute, diligent civil servant and a strong pillar in my administration," said the governor.
