Kilifi County proposes Sh 14.6 Billion on the /2021 budget allocation at the Kilifi chambers

The Kilifi County Assembly on a special seating on Tuesday 30th June, approved a proposed 2020/2021 F/Y budget of Ksh. 14, 677, 077, 365 with which Ksh. 8.4 billion being Recurrent expenditure while a total sum of Ksh. 6.4 billion channelled to Development expenditures.


The move came after H.E the Governor Amason Jeffa Kingi meeting with the Honourable Members of the County Assembly of Kilifi in deliberating on the Budget Estimates for the FY 2020/2021 at the Assembly chambers.

In a Motion moved by the Chairperson Budget and appropriation committee hon. Albert Kiraga of Gongoni Ward, the proposed 2020/2021 Financial Year (FY) budget elaborated a scheme of a program among key beneficiary being the Department of Health Services with an allocation of Ksh. 1,220,744,003.


Hon Kiraga said that the assembly has also directed a total sum of Ksh. 634, 550,557 to the Department of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ksh. 665, 226, 007 to the Department of Education and ICT and Ksh. 183,103,440 to the Department of Youth, Gender and Social Services.


The passing of the Proposed Budget for the F/Y 2020/2021 will now give room for the implementation of various projects within the County as Hon. Members who contributed on the floor of the house urging the county executive to put into priorities on projects which offer direct impact to the people of Kilifi.
