Manyani prison inmate transferred from Shimo La Tewa has tested positive of COVID-19

Manyani Maximum Prison.

Manyani Prison has been infested by the naval virus. Several people have been put in isolation after one inmate tested Positive of COVID-19.

The inhabitant at the Manyani Maximum Prison in Taita Taveta County has been isolated as well.

According to Taita Taveta Health CEC John Mwakima, the inmate was only recently transferred from the Shimo La Tewa prison.

 Mr Mwakima expanded that fellow prisoners who came into contact with the patient have since also been placed in quarantine.

However, he said that situation has been contained and there is no cause of alarm.
