"Held discussion with church leaders from Kirinyaga and Embu counties about their programmes and the role of the church in addressing the Covid19 pandemic, " he posted on social media.

The deputy president added that the Government appreciates the partnership and friendship of the church in the provision of healthcare and education to the community. Towards the end, the government will support the church in coming up with various income-generating activities to help them run their social programmes.

The government is keen on re-opening sections of the economy as it battles the spread of the naval virus.  The meeting came after the Church elders and Imams held a meeting with the Health CS Mutahi Kagwe and Interior CS Fred Matiangi.
