Deputy President William Ruto continues to build his hustler Nation. The DP advised the youth to start small businesses, which he said are as important to the nation as big ones.

Speaking at his Karen residence on Thursday during an empowerment programme for Nairobi county youth and women's groups, Ruto said the government will support small businesses.

The DP said that the government is working with stakeholders to streamline policies on micro, small and medium-sized businesses.

"We are working with leaders from sectors in the lower level to ensure they influence government policies to support their businesses,” Ruto said.

" Continued with our empowerment programme to youths of Westlands, Kasarani, Embakasi East and Kamkunji constituencies; supporting them with carts, wheelbarrows, power generators, screen printing equipment, water tanks and salon equipment, " Ruto posted.

" We recognise micro, small and medium-sized businesses as central forces of innovation, job creation and economic growth in our country. As such, we have the duty of nurturing and uplifting them into large firms by providing a conducive environment if we are to industrialise, " he added.

" We are engaging small entrepreneurs to influence Government policy in this direction, " he added.
