Mr Omwaga, 58, caught his wife Jane,55, in bed with a pastor Olutatwa, 52, wife blames tithes desires

Luhya elders perform a cleansing rituals ceremony on a 55-year-old woman from Elukho Village in Lurambi Constituency, Kakamega County.

The woman was on Monday, July 6, caught red-handed engaging in s£xual !ntercourse with a pastor, who was not her husband.

The elders directed the woman, Jane Omwaga, and her lover, recognised as Pastor Moses Olutatwa, 52, of Solid Rock for Jesus Christ Church to offer a cow each, which would be used in the cleansing ceremony.

Jackson Makale, one of the elders says the act of giving a cow each, would shield the sinners’ families against setbacks such as strange ailments or deaths.

On Monday morning, Jane’s husband, Josephat Omwaga, who works as a security guard at a local market, returned home earlier than expected without notice and caught his wife in bed with Pastor Olutatwa, who is a pastor at the Solid Rock for Jesus Christ Church in Lurambi, where Jane fellowships.

During the resultant melee, the evangelist escaped on foot leaving behind his motorcycle and some of his clothes.

And now, Jane blames her husband, 59, for not fulfilling his s£xual and financial obligations, consequently pushing her into the arms of Pastor Olutatwa.

“The pastor came to my home at 5 am and knocked on my door, I let him in. We went on with some stories for some time and, thereafter, got in bed. We got intimate, and while at it, I heard my husband knocking on the door, " she said.

"The pastor and I hopped out of bed. I, thereafter, opened the backdoor for him (Olutatwa) to escape. However, my husband managed to open the main door and got in before the pastor could get far. However, my lover managed to pass through a barbed wire fence as my husband chased him with a panga in his hands,” Jane added.

“The pastor had seduced me recently. He said he wanted me, both emotionally and s£xually. And, because he had shown that he had my interest at heart by helping me financially (tithes and offerings) and emotional support I decided to allow him to have s£x with me, " she added.

" It was the first time he and I were getting intimate. My husband’s constantly that I was cheating on him also pushed me to actually doing it.”

“Had I busted my wife with the pastor in a sugarcane plantation or maize plantation, I would have forgiven her. However, she chose to disrespect me by bringing another man to our matrimonial bed, that is the highest level of disrespect, and I won’t tolerate it, " the husband said.

" I have made it clear to my spouse that I am divorcing her, and I would, thereafter, sell the parcel of land where our matrimonial home sits on, and relocate elsewhere,” said the heartbroken Mzee Omwaga.

Jane Omwaga, who has three children with her husband, has since returned to her parents’ home in Khwisero Constituency, Kakamega County.

“I think it would be right for Jane’s husband to divorce her so that she can now freely engage in s£x with reckless abandon,” said a neighbour said.

Area chief, Alex Mutende, also condemned Jane and Olutatwa, saying police had begun investigations into the shameful incident.
