Kenya Films and Classification Board partners with Mama Ida Odinga the wife of ODM leader Raila Odinga through Odinga foundation in establishing rural mobile libraries.

Mobile libraries will help learners in remote areas access to learning materials and resources.

The Mobile libraries will also accompany amphitheatres for rural and remote entertainment and growing talents.

"We are proud to partner with Mama Ida Odinga in her legacy project and we shall put in resources under our Sinema Mashinani initiative. KFCB will continue to work with like-minded institutions to make Kenya a global creative hub, " KFCB boss Dr Ezekiel Mutua said.

" KFCB will establish an amphitheatre at the proposed Dr Ida Odinga Library, Research, Innovation and Resource Centre that will enable youths to nurture and showcase their talents, " he added.

" We are grateful to Mama for this noble project that will go a long way in empowering young people in Homa Bay and other parts of the country, " Hon. Peter Kaluma, Homa Bay Town MP said.

" KFCB will continue to work with like-minded institutions to make Kenya a creative hub in the world, " Dr Mutua said.

Because they are free for patrons, not many people consider the role they play in the economy, but libraries play a key role in financially strengthening the local community.

" KFCB will also collaborate with the national broadcasting station, KBC,
to set aside funds to establish Sinema Mashinani and Studio Mashinani projects respectively at the proposed Dr Ida Odinga Library, Research, Innovation and Resource centre at Ogande Girls High School, Homa Bay County, " Dr Mutua added.
