Pay Television Company StarTimes Kenya announces its possession of LaLiga Santander broadcasting rights for 4 seasons starting with the 2020-21 season till 2024 across sub-Saharan Africa.

 

 

They uncovered the inception of the second release of UEFA’s latest international tournament; the UEFA Nations League.


“We are overwhelmed to declare our possession of LaLiga Santander broadcast rights this being one of the most prestigious football competitions in the world, " declared Mr Aldrine Nsubuga, StarTimes Regional Marketing Director.

"Soccer has been centre to StarTimes’ sports content strategy and this latest achievement highlights our responsibility to produce the best football experience to our subscribers,” he added.


The sensational Laliga will broadcast live and in High Definition on StarTimes sports channels as well as through the broadcaster’s online streaming application, the StarTimes ON,  from the kickoff of the 2020/21 season on September 12.


“This deal presents an impressive new way for French-speaking fans across sub-Saharan Africa to get closer to our competition. StarTimes has a robust occupancy in the region and proven expertise in sports and in general football in particular, which will encourage us all to reach as wide an audience as possible,” LaLiga’s Director of the audiovisual department Melchior Soler said.


“StarTimes supporters can fairly look forward to the new Europa League season where Arsenal will carry the flag for the Premier League, European cups including Coppa Italia and the Spanish Copa del Rey,” continued Mr Nsubuga.

“Basketball enthusiasts have also been furnished with popular NBA which is off-late in the Play Offstage is being broadcast on the newly added ESPN 2 and ESPN 1 channels.


“This content has enhanced our Classic and Basic bouquets without raising the cost which indicates that our consumers are now seeing more benefit for their subscription,” he ended.
