Raila Odinga with others at KICC

DP William Ruto snubbed the first sitting of the COVID-19 conversation currently ongoing at KICC, Nairobi.

Deputy President William Ruto was among those who were listed to attend the conference alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta and other government officials.

But after the president appeared at around 2:20 pm, a clear indication showed that his deputy was not to turn up.

The seat allocated for him was quickly removed from the stage.

In the front row were ODM leader Raila Odinga, Chief Justice David Maraga and Uhuru.

It is unclear why he did not make it to the conference even though he was invited and his name was in the programme.

The address by the president will unveil the containment measures that will guide Kenya into the new normal.
