Mukinduri villagers taking a woman from a well

Mukinduri villagers in Kirinyaga had on Friday afternoon attempted to retrieve Jane Wanjiku, 46, who had plunged into a 50-foot well after a domestic argument with her husband.

Wanjiku had gone missing on Thursday after a dispute with her husband according to her father.

She has been staying in her parents home with her husband at a house they were given when they got married.

It unclear what drove the woman into endangering her life, but villagers were incapable to clam her out as she was intentionally hindering plans for her rescue.

Videos shared online dispensed locals wielding all modes of chances and ends; water buckets, ropes and twigs attempting to save the woman.

The family eventually managed to clam her from the well with the help of firefighters from the county government of Kirinyaga.

She was taken to the Kerugoya Referral Hospital where she is receiving treatment.
