Police officers in Nakuru County have begun a manhunt for a group of youths after a 26-year-old woman they gang-raped until they murdered her.

The untold number of the youths are claimed to have also implanted a beer glass bottle and some sticks in the woman’s private parts after raping her before slashing her with a machete on Saturday, September 19.

Senior Assistant Chief Emitik Sub-Location, Richard Langat, said that the woman was picked shortly by Good Samaritans and taken to Olenguruone Sub-County Hospital for treatment.

However, the woman succumbed to the injuries on Sunday, September 20, while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Kuresoi South OCPD Henry Nyaranga said two suspects have already been arrested as detectives continue to pursue the other culprits.

“I have sent a team of sleuths to undertake meticulous investigations and suitable action will be taken,” he said.

Nyaranga said that the event is sad and those responsible will face the vengeance of the law.

Langat added that the said youths could be under the power of drugs and pledged to work jointly with the security officers to uproot the peril.

The woman’s body has been moved to the hospital’s mortuary.
