Purity Ngatha, 36, stabs to death Faith Wanja, 36, over boyfriend -Ndia, Kirinyaga County

Purity Ngatha, 36, arrested over the death of Faith Wanja,36 after stabbing her with a broken bottle in Ndia, Kirinyaga County.


The two women, were according to statements were allegedly competing over a man at Kairini shopping centre before the incident.


Ndia sub-county Police Commander Joseph Mwika confirmed the conflict saying the 36-year-old suspect killed Faith Wanja after hitting in the head with a broken beer bottle.


The sub-county police chief said the man in the puzzle has also been detained and is assisting police officers with probes.


“The two ladies were fighting because of him, that’s why we have arrested him, and he’s helping us with investigations,” Mwika said.

The two are being held at the Baricho Police station

According to Kairini villagers led by Samuel Githinji, the man who has been having entanglement with the two women had not presented them to each other.

It was until Saturday evening that the two women shredded into each other after understanding they were brewing from the same pot.

The body of the dead was taken to the Karatina General Hospital Mortuary.
