Pay Television Media StarTimes Media bags exclusive broadcast rights for the 2020 Bob Arum’s Top Rank boxing and car racing events.


The broadcaster will air live boxing and car racing events including various world title fights on the program.


Top Rank Inc. holds being the world’s premier boxing promoters for almost half a century; it has offered some of the most thrilling fights. 



Top Rank’s current holds rights for champions include Vasiliy Lomachenko, Terence Crawford, Oscar Valdez, Gilberto Ramirez, Jose Ramirez and Tyson Fury.


On the other hand, Startimes has acquired Extreme E broadcast rights for the pioneering electric off-road motor racing series on a three-year deal.


Startimes now will air Extreme E’s five-race global odyssey from the Arctic to the Amazon Rainforest, air over 30 African countries including Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire with the first Season expected to get underway in early 2021.


Addressing the media  and other company officials, StarTimes Regional Marketing Director Mr Aldrine Nsubuga said, “StarTimes is fascinated to add these two premium sporting events to our current rich sports offering in Kenya as we are aware of the strong viewership for both boxing and racing among our subscribers as we make progressive efforts bring excitement and adrenaline to our subscriber’s homes.”



On football, Startimes says it is in final stages in acquiring Bundesliga rights to add on top of Laliga, Ligue 1 and international matches.



The media rights will run across both the broadcaster’s terrestrial and satellite platforms including as well as on StarTimes ON mobile application key towards maximizing audience reach for the latest sports properties to join the broadcaster’s growing offering.
