Stephen Githinji assaulted his girlfriend after she turned down his advances was today charged with assault at the Kibera Law Courts.
Her girlfriend took him to court over assaulting and causing bodily harm on Penina Wambui in Kangemi, Nairobi on September 14, 2020.
The man also accused of smashing Wambuis' phone during the assault. Her phone was badly damaged and was ordered to buy a new phone immediately.
The suspect had attended his lover’s shop minutes before she closed and intended to take her home. But he ended up attacking her after they objected on who load they weight.
Wambui later reported the matter to police and Githinji was detained.
The involved disputed the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Boke and got back his freedom on a bond of Sh100,000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh20,000.
On October 8, the case will be on hearing and mentioning pending further investigation.
