Tina Mulinge who allegedly acquired a newborn baby from Winnie Rose Mumbe at Sh 1000 in Kitui charged.
The charges came after police officers in Machakos arrested the two women over the offence that allegedly transpired three months ago.
Tina Mulinge reportedly went absent for 9 months only to retreat to her husband and lie that she miraculously gave birth.
However, the couple has been living with the baby as their own until Mulinge’s arrest.
The detention came after nurses at Machakos Level 5 hospital where she had taken the baby for a clinic check-raised alarm.
The accused has been charged with forgery, fraud and child abuse and trafficking.
