Cop Nancy Njeri suspended as charges amended, causing harm to the murder of Onesmus Masaku

Police Constable Nancy Njeri to battles suspension following the death of lawyer Onesmus Masaku on Sunday.

Makueni police boss Joseph Ole Napeiyan says Njeri in suspension and facing murder charges.

According to Napeiyan, the Police amends the charges against Njeri from severe harm to murder.

Masaku died at the Kenyatta National Hospital where he had been receiving treatment after his hands cut-off 11 days ago.

Njeri, who serves at Makueni Police Station in Wote, is accused of cutting off the advocate’s hands on October 7, 2020.

The Police allege that the two argued at the lawyer’s house before the incident occurred.

Njeri was later arrested and arraigned in court on October 9 battling charges with causing severe harm.

The court ruled that she remain in custody at Wote Police Station for 14 days as investigations continue.

The press charges have been changed and set for mention on October 23, 2020.
