Court issues warrant of arrest against Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi. The case involves money laundering and extortion in a Nairobi court.

The court said the governor declined to appear in court numerous times in a case where four men allegedly attempted to extract him of Ksh. 30million leaving it deserted.

The court now wants Governor Kingi and other witnesses arrested and presented before the court on Thursday for further direction.

George Ngugi, Abdul Aziz Alim, Moses Musee Maluki and Noah Akala Aduwo accused of trying to obtain Ksh.30 million from the county boss.

The Mombasa traders, however, denied the charges.

The four are said to have pretended to be detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) investigating alleged misappropriation of funds.

The offence took place at the Gracia Hotel in Kilimani in June 2018.
