DP William Ruto denied a permit by Shianda area OCS to attend a church service -Mumias

 

Police boss in Mumias denies Deputy President William Ruto and his allies permit to hold a fundraiser at St. Leo Catholic church Shianda, Mumias East Constituency.


OCS Shianda Christopher Wesonga denied the congregation a permit where the DP William Ruto expected to attend.


According to the letter, the area Police Chief declined due to the new measures put in place curb the Pandemic.


The boss also added that there was a security threat. A Gathering from across the constituency posses a security threat according to the Police boss.


" Take note that there will be no Mass involving Ten sub-parishes under Bumini Parish, Mumias East Constituency on 10 th October 2020. There should be no gathering around the said church, " the OCS stated.


Deputy President Allies contested the move saying its now a witchhunt.


Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said they had written to the area Police chief on Wednesday giving room for the three days advance as required by the new rules.
