Police officers in Nyamira destroying DP William Rutos' fundraiser.

 Police officers in Nyamira tear-gas protesters who have gathered at Kebirigo grounds in Nyamira for a fundraiser that Deputy President Ruto was attending. 

 

DP Ruto was to fulfil Boda Boda riders pledge as authorities launched stringent measures for politicians holding rallies. 

 

Rowdy youth were teargassed by Police officers as others chased away. 

 

 

 “Tutoke pole pole sisi wote. Tutoke nje.” a police officer who took over the public addressing system said. 

 

A Police chopper was patrolling Nyamira skies. Tension still high. DP Ruto supporters were planning to retake Kebirigo grounds. 

 

 Fundraiser organizers Don Bosco Gichana, Zaheer Jhanda and Omwando came with more people to battle.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi distances himself from the standoff at Kebirigo and Miriri in Nyamira where police seized the grounds ahead of DP Ruto trip. He says he doesn't control police and he's in Nairobi planning to attend President Uhuru Kenyatta meeting at State House, 2 pm.

" How do I even come in? It's very reckless to drag me to DP Ruto's woes. I don't control police. Tangatanga leaders in Nyamira should stop implicating some of us. I'm even in Nairobi planning to join Gusii leaders at State House in a meeting sanctioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta, " he said.
