President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at the Bomas of Kenya for the official launch of the Building Bridges to a United Kenya Taskforce Report with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

 

Deputy President William Ruto, Governors, Senators and other leaders across the divide attended intending to solidify the document.

 

However, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy clashed on the course being taken saying it will divide the country further hence toning down politics.

 

"The BBI framework gives us a moment to have a proper conversation that is centred on issues affecting the ordinary populace. We, therefore, have a civic duty to engage in the process by interrogating and making progressive proposals, " Deputy President said.

The Deputy President added that " We do not have the luxury of “I do not care” or walking away from this historic moment."

 

" It's now all systems go. The journey towards building a better Kenya is proceeding in earnest. I encourage all of you to read and acquaint yourselves with the BBI report. Let's all come together as a people and find durable solutions to our challenges as a country, " said ODM leader Raila Odinga.

 

Deputy President William Ruto pinpointed the areas on the BBI saying the team needed to relook at them. 

 

Areas concerning Police leadership, IEBC, Agriculture and political structure are the major items in the BBI he poked holes.
