Mpeketoni attached Police Officer commits suicide after quarrelling with his wife in Nyeri

 

 

Police-constable John Ngatia Maina committed suicide on Saturday evening in Othaya, Nyeri County following a conflict with his wife.


Constable Maina attached to Mpeketoni police station in Lamu County executed himself with a scarf in their house at Konyu village in Nyeri.


According to a police report on the incident, the deceased, who was on interdiction, had a brief dispute with his wife before he locked himself in his house where he hanged himself.


“Family members tried to intervene on the matter but the deceased locked himself inside before hanging himself,” indicates the police report.


The deceased was taken to the Mukurweini Sub-county Hospital mortuary.
