President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa, today, alongside county bosses and officials from the Ministry of Health launched the nationwide biometric system that will enhance universal health coverage scheme.


The scheme was piloted in Kisumu, Nyeri, Isiolo and Machakos counties.



President Uhuru Kenyatta urged leaders to work for the benefit of the citizen.



NHIF revamped with the new UHC to help improve the health financial burden status to the people especial those at the grassroots.



The Head of State received progress reports on the national roll-out of UHC including ongoing beneficiary biometric registration exercise, reform process at KEMSA and launched a national Malaria campaign.



President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the nation in Mombasa County at the Health Sector Intergovernmental Forum on Universal Health Coverage held at Whitesands beach hotel.



President Uhuru Kenyatta tasked the governors and the Health cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe to spearhead the UHC programme.
