Wote Police officer Nancy Njeri, 32

Wote Police officer Nancy Njeri, 32, has been arrested after chopping off Lawyer Onesmus Masaku hands in what identified as attempted murder.

She will be arraigned in court for attempted murder charges.

She is accused of causing serious bodily harm to a lawyer Onesmus Masaku using a panga. As reported earlier, Nancy went to the lawyers' house for him to introduce to her to his girlfriend.

However, Nancy alleged that the lawyer tried to raped her and defended herself with a panga.

Activists stormed Wote Police Station pushing to record a statement.

They alleged that the police were trying to cover up the matter to protect their colleague.

Law Society of Kenya President (LSK) Nelson Havi echoed their emotions and denied earlier claims that the lawyer had tried to rape Njeri.

It has now emerged the two were lovers and they had sired a child together.

“Police officers in Makueni are complicit in the attempted murder of Lawyer Onesmus Masaku by Policewoman Nancy Nyeri. The two are known lovers and Njeri attempted to kill him after he refused to comply with her demands for marriage. Nancy Njeri should be arrested and charged,” he said on Twitter.

" The two are lovers and had a child together. That was an attempted murder, " he added when talking on the phone.

The lawyer was admitted at the Kenyatta Hospital in Nairobi and said to be in critical condition.
