Faith Chepkemoi Maritim, 34 arrested after murdering one of her two kids at Kaplamai village in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County.
She killed her son so she can be free and flee with a new lover over unending disputes with her stubborn husband.
Faith stated that daily battles with her husband Benard Maritim,40, led her into the chest of another man where she found peace and was ready to marry him.
She decided to kill the 3-year-old child she got with Bernard together to completely cut all ties and flee with the new catch.
Area Assistant Chief Rotich said inquiries disclosed that the woman had been in discussion with the new lover via SMS and they were planning to escape on Monday morning.
Mrs Faith Maritim hit the boy using firewood on the neck and head, killing him immediately on Sunday around 10 pm. After the incident, she covered him with a blanket.
Police arrested Mrs Faith Maritim and locked her at the Olenguruone Police Station as the body of boy taken to Olenguruone hospital morgue.
