Republican lawmaker late David Andahl

 

A Republican lawmaker late David Andahl has won a seat in the North Dakota state legislature approximately a month after he died of the global virus pandemic.



David Andahl died on October 5, aged 55, after getting a hotly-contested primary with an incumbent Republican committee chairman Ronna Romney McDaniel.



Andahl and another Republican won the two seats for state representatives from North Dakota’s eighth district, with Andahl taking about 36 percent of the vote.


The district has two representatives both beat their two Democratic challengers.



According to the New York Post, Andahl died after being hospitalised with the global virus pandemic for approximately four days.
