Former Deputy OCS at Ugunja Police Station Mrs Sabina Kerubo found dead.


Sabina Kerubo,  a Chief Inspector, hit headlines in November and December 2019 after ‘The Star’ newspaper correspondent in Siaya County, Erick Oloo, was found dead in her house in Ugunja Town on November 21.




Mr Erick Oloo, 41, had deep cut wounds in the head.


The OCS was detained and taken to court over the Oloo’s murder.


However, it took a Complex way after eyewitnesses to Oloo’s death abandoned the case in court for succeeding mentions.


Kerubo was later transferred to Police Headquarters in Nairobi to attend counselling sessions.

On Tuesday, December 22, police found the OCS body in her single-room house in Komarock, Matungulu Sub-County in Machakos County.

Police said Kerubo’s body looked “weak and starved”.

Authorities allege there were signs that Kerubo drunk excess alcohol.


Information about her death was filed at KBC Police Station under the OB Number 17/22/12/2020 by Philip Monta, who presented himself as Kerubo’s boyfriend.


Matungulu OCPD and his DCI counterpart, later, visited the scene and found Kerubo’s body on a mattress flowed.


“She appeared weak. Next to her body, were empty glasses and jugs of keg alcohol,” said the area OCPD.


The deceased mother, Elizabeth Kwamboka, said that Kerubo had declined to stay at the family house.


“On different occasions, she would assault me while drunk,” Kwamboka said.

Kerubo dies aged 36.


The deceased body was taken to a Machakos hospital morgue awaiting postmortem.
