Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa pushes for the Women Representative seat to remain at the National assembly, not to be scrapped as it is in the current BBI form.

She says Women representative is an organ that has helped women across the country with its kit.

"We recommend that resources allocated to BBI issues be re-directed to COVID-19 recovery measures… We will be asking for clear directions on issues of land & historical injustices, " she stated.

MP Jumwa reiterated that the recommendations made at the Deputy Presidents' Karen home will create a balanced government.

" The formula for having Women Senators and Women Representatives will bring closer to the cure of two-third gender rule,  " she said on phone.

" When these recommendations are included in the document, then we will all rally behind the document. We need people to understand first what it means before we embark on referendum bill at the assembly, " she added.

" We have agreed on what to vote and include to the bill at the National assembly, " she concluded.
