Cynthia Chiyumba, 40, charged at Kibera court for failing to repay Sh 90,000 Chama funds

Cynthia Chiyumba, 40, who allegedly received Sh90,000 merry go round cash and failed to repay as agreed charged with obtaining money by false pretences.


Cynthia Chiyumba charged before Kibera senior principal magistrate Charles Mwaniki where she denied the charges.


Cynthia accused that on July 10, 2019, and May 10, 2020, at an unknown place within Kenya with intent to defraud, obtained from Agness Ngugi Sh90,000 by falsely pretending that she was in a position to pay her table banking contribution.

However, Cynthia denied the charges and through her lawyer. 

The lawyer told the court that there was a disagreement with the complainant.

The magistrate released her on Sh100,000 bond and ordered the case be mentioned next month for pre-trial.
