Doreen Moraa Moracha explains why she has been living with HIV for over 20 years with no physical effects after overcoming stigma from people around.
" Adherence to ARVs doesn't have to be boring sometimes take a photo to remind HIV who is the boss. I am not sick, I am not dying and I am an amazing host to a tiny guest, " she said.
Living with HIV has not been a walk in the park after the stigma that accompany the infection.
People infected with any virus not considered to be worthy. The introduction of the Coronavirus has been a lesson to everybody that stigma.
" For the 28 years I have lived with HIV, I don’t feel that I’m suffering with it, I’m just living with it. And, to be honest, living unapologetically with it. By being open, shameless, and not letting HIV define me, let us challenge the ignorance and fear that leads to stigma, " she added.
