Drama vented at the Nyandarua County Assembly on Monday, January 11, while in a special sitting, MCAs exchange blows over the current removal of Speaker Wahome Ndegwa.

That was the first sitting of the year by Deputy Speaker Zachary Njeru after the impeachment of Speaker Ndegwa on Friday, January 8.

The meeting intended to communicate a gazette notice on the impeachment against Ndegwa.

The MCAs clashed over impeached Speaker Wahome Ndegwa's removal.

Eight MCAs who opposed the impeachment attacked the House and began hurling seats and other crude weapons at the Deputy Speaker.

A section of the leaders present achieved to pull Njeru to safety. However, the MCAs managed to dissolve the County Public Service Board before the House adjourned for two weeks.

The impeached speaker is accused of gross misconduct, nepotism and abuse of office.

The ousted speaker termed the ouster as illegal, saying that the assembly was in recess.

His lawyers also declared that the MCAs had not obeyed the due process for impeaching the speaker.

The move comes just a day after the Nyandarua County mourned the death of Rurii Ward MCA Mburu Githinji.
