A pharmacist surrenders himself to police after killing his girlfriend in Nakuru County.
According to Police report, it states that Joseph Kipkirui, 37, stabbed 22-year-old Purity Mumbi five times at his house in Huruma Estate.
Njoro police boss Jonathan Kisaka said that Kipkirui, who works near Egerton University, stabbed his girlfriend with a kitchen knife.
They were fighting after Purity showed him a pregnancy test kit. However, it is still unclear what resulted in the dispute after seeing the test kit.
Was it the test kit results, or the purchase of the kit? It is still unknown.
“The suspect has been taken to Gilgil Mental Hospital for mental assessment as the investigations continue,” Mr Kisaka said.
Police says citizens must exercise tolerance and find ways of solving disputes.
" People must understand that they are dealing with other human beings. Do not take the law into your hands. Find other alternative ways of solving disputes or domestic conflicts, " he added.
