Angry Youths barred KANU chief Gideon Moi from meeting Talai elders in Nandi County on Saturday.

The youths from Talai and Kapsisiywa blocked the entrance to the residence of Councillor Christopher Arap Koyoki.

Reports show that the councillor was to instal Senator Moi as the official Kalenjin leader, a position said to be held by Dr Ruto.

Moi forced to turn back after angry youths blocked his convoy.

He later continued to Kabiyet Trading Centre to socialise with other youth before he left the area.

Councillor Koyoki efforts to calm the down did not bore fruits, and he was forced to flee to safety.

On June 7 last year, Talai elders led by Retired Anglican cleric James Baasi said the Kalenjin kingship was now with the deputy president.

Rev. Baasi said the DP had been installed as the community kingpin following the death of former President Daniel Arap Moi.

The youths vowed to block future Moi endeavours to Talai elders. They said already DP William Ruto was already installed and none will be installed again until he dies.
