The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill 2020

The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill now heads to the National Assembly and the Senate after it crossed the 24 counties mark on Super Tuesday as required in law.

Atleast 17 county assemblies concurrently passed the Bill raising the tally to 30 counties, thereby naming what former Prime Minister Raila Odinga pointed to as a Super Tuesday.

Raila during the weekend signified confidence that the required 24 assemblies would have passed the BBI Bill by Tuesday, flooring the way for its next step; the National Assembly.

Raila also fired shots at BBI critics, reassuring them to continue opposing it, promising them a sound beating at the ballot.

County assemblies that passed the BBI Bill on Tuesday include Kakamega, Narok, Makueni, Nyamira, Taita Taveta, Kitui, Bungoma, Nyeri, Garissa, Murang’a, Machakos, Lamu, Nyandarua, Mombasa, Nakuru, West Pokot among others.
