ODM leader Raila Odinga expressed concerns over the increased number of people suffering from Mental illness.

While receiving the leadership of Covenant Church International, Rotian, Narok County who were accompanied by Moitalel Ole Kenta the MP for Narok North, said religious leaders have a role in stabilising the community.

However, he insisted that the Building Bridges Initiative will help in solving some of the problems Kenyans are facing.

" Some of these problems associated with mental illness will be solved when Kenyans vote for BBI in the referendum. We need a stable country, " he said while discussing with Narok clergy.

Later the ODM leader posted on his social media handles that people should reach out to another to help mitigate mental illness.

He said, "Fellow Countrymen and women. I’m deeply concerned and alarmed about the reported increase in numbers of our people battling MENTAL ILLNESS. Instead of ostracizing and labelling those in that lonely corner, let us embrace and encourage them to seek treatment."

He added, "When was the LAST time you checked on your children, friends, colleagues, neighbours, and loved ones? We all need SOMEONE at times...REACH OUT TO SOMEONE."
