Kisii DG Joash Maaangi arrested for welcoming DP William Ruto at the late Simeon Nyachae burial

Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maaangi arrested after arriving at Kisii High School to welcome DP William Ruto.

The Police say he was unlawful welcoming Deputy President in Kisii. 

The deputy Governor was arrested  Monday morning as he was waiting to welcome Deputy President William Ruto.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto and ODM chief Raila Odinga are present at the burial of Gusii politician Simeon Nyachae.

His Personal Assistant(PA) said detectives ordered Maangi to enter their car before they sped off to the DCI offices in Kisii town where they are grilling him.

However, the Police officers have not pressed any charges against him.

 

According to sources, the Police are expected to detain him until the DP leaves the area. 

" It is a strategy to deny him not to meet the DP. The Police got orders from above to detain him so that the DP could miss a crowd or a place to attend to after the burial, " sources claim.
