Likoni OCPD Mrs Jane Kavutha Munywoki and Nyandarua West Deputy OCPD Ephraim Karani detained for purportedly demanding a Ksh500,000 bribe.

“Munywoki and Karani detained regarding the completion of the investigation into the accusations demanding of a bribe of Ksh500,000 by the duo while working in South Kinangop, Nyandarua County as Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) and District Administration Police Commander (DAPC), respectively,” police said.

“They asked the bribe as an incentive to effect an eviction order, validly issued by a Law Court against illegal occupants of a private property.”

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) on February 10 gave the green light for the suspects’ arraignment.

“The two are being processed, awaiting arraignment on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Nyahururu Anti-Corruption Court,” said police.
