Rarieda member of parliament Paul Otiende Amollo told Kenyans that they should anticipate more adjustments to the BBI bill as it moves to the Committee Stage in the national parliament.

The famous ODM legislator who is Vice-Chair of the parliament’s Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee claims that the BBI bill needs fine-tuning before being discussed in the legislature.

The BBI now being prepared to move to the parliamentary stage in the coming weeks after endorsed by more than 24 counties demanded by the constitution.

It is expected to have heated political differences between the president allies and those of DP William Ruto.


The differences may play out during the fine-tuning of the BBI at the committee stage.

However, MP Otiende Amollo reassured the country that the fine-tuning will take care of all the controversial issues presented by Deputy President William Ruto allies and others like the religious clergy before being subjected to a referendum.


According to the timeline, the Bill needs to go for a referendum in June 2021.  

Further, the ODM party leader Raila Odinga revealed that the BBI campaigns will officially begin on 1st March 2021.


Raila said the country should clear the BBI process quickly to pave way for th general elections preparations next year, 2022.
