body of the deceased, known as Benard Okoth

Nyatike Police collaborating with the provincial administration launch an investigation into the death of a 30-year-old fisherman whose decomposing body was found stashed beneath his bed in a rental house at the Yugislavia estate in Sori town.

Area Assistant chief Barnabas Majiwa said the body of the deceased, known as Benard Okoth had stab wounds as well as multiple incisions.

The body had been covered with sheets.

The administrator said the death of the fisherman was discovered after his neighbours discovered a strong odour coming from the house.

In the company of the police, the area chief said they went to the house and found the door locked from outside and the police smashed the door so that they could enter the house.

Mr Majiwa said the body that was kept beneath the bed had started decomposing an indication that the incident happened several days ago.

He said the neighbour showed that the deceased was living with a lady who has also been missing from Saturday last week, the same day the man went missing.

The area chief said they presume that the missing woman may have been involved in the murder of the fisherman.
