NASA allies Musalia Mudavadi news photo

President Uhuru Kenyatta hint that the party will embrace its leadership ahead of the 2022 elections.

The change in plans comes former NASA allies fall out. ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper chief Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford-K chief Moses Wetangula plan to ditch ODM boss Raila Odinga involved alliance citing betrayal.

The move comes after Deputy President William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta had a closed-door meeting after chairing Cabinet on Friday.

President Uhuru Kenyatta allies have been working hard to make sure the former NASA coalition does not collapse. However, according to COTU boss Francis Atwoli the NASA fallout is a big blow to their anticipated plan ahead of 2022 polls.

Last week the NASA partners Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula with KANU chairman, Gideon Moi to form a pre-election alliance.

The NASA brigade came into the Jubilee government soon after the handshake between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018.

Whether their action was an afterthought, a reaction to Raila’s move or purely initiated on its merit is still a subject of debate.
