Western MCAs now wants Sh 300,000 each to pass the BBI bill in their respective counties.

The move comes after their Nyanza counterpart - Migori, Homabay, Kisumu and Siaya voted in the document.

The MCAs from Vihiga, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Busia and Kakamega ordered their governors to wire Sh 300,000 to each MCA to pass the bill in the county assemblies before the period elapses.

The Governors from the region came together to have a common stand towards the document headed by former CoG Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

"We want to have a common purpose and stand on BBI. Despite the demands made, the CS Eugene Wamalwa has heard and will act on the matter, " Governor Oparanya said.

" I have heard your demands and they will be done. What we want is to have a common stand and pass the document. The main work is to go to the grassroots and making sure people vote for it, " CS Wamalwa said.

"The issue now is not BBI. The issue is the Referendum Bill. BBI was a process. It is over. The Task Force was dissolved. We should be talking to the public about the Constitutional Amendment Bill and the Consequential Bills. The details are what Kenyans want to know,"  ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi said.

" "Am here in solidarity with all western MCAs and making sure all your demands are met to pass the document, " he added.
