ANC party boss Musalia Mudavadi gives a splendid speech on Governance in Whitesands Hotel,  Mombasa.

Mudavadi was speaking in Mombasa during Governance and Leadership forum through the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya(ICPAK).

Building Public Trust Through Effective Governance and Leadership at the Corporate Governance and Leadership Conference was the theme in Mombasa.

"The higher level of debt, together with rising reliance on non-concessional borrowing, have raised fiscal vulnerabilities and increased interest payments on public debt to nearly one-fifth of revenue, placing Kenya in the top quartile among its peers, " he said.

"The Government must oversee the most effective Public Service institutions possible and ensure that ethos of these institutions is just commendable, " he added.

"The country needs leaders who are dedicated to their work and ready to lead without any problems and doubts, " he said.

" Let's all work on good governance and ensure that the people are in a better place.

"Kenyans who bear the consequences of a poorly managed public debt. How about we change that narrative by voting in better leaders.

" Implementing devolution allows us to seek out and implement, in partnership with County governments, projects that have a real and positive impact on county residents.

" We must continue to stimulate socio-economic development at the grassroots by providing services to beneficiaries at the village level, thus enabling the ordinary Kenyan to become an active participant in the development," he said.
