Let's focus on changing the white collar job narrative and nurture talents, Kilifi Senator aspirant says

Kilifi Senatorial contestant and a lawyer George Kithi accompanied by Nominated Senator Christine Zawadi Gona and Kilifi politician Mama Bendera witnessed a ladies tournament at Alaskan in Malindi.

The soccer tournament was sponsored by Lawyer George Kithi flexing muscles ahead of fully talent empowerment across the county.


The match at the Alaskan ground, Malindi was between Kilifi Ladies and Changamwe ladies. Changamwe ladies are the winners of Dimba na Safaricom while Kilifi Ladies are the Coast region winners.

While speaking at Alaskan Grounds, Lawyer Kithi urged other leaders to empower youth in talent-based activities as its the only way to enhance growth in the county and employment reduction.


" We need to focus on changing the white-collar job narrative. Let us give a platform where youths can quantify and monetize their talents. We need to empower both the girl child and boy child. Youths are the backbone of the society, " he said.


" This is the tip of an iceberg. We will do more to help youth across the county. What we need is support from the youths and people in the county, " he said.


" There are so many teams battling with funds. Others have been relegated just because of transport from one match to the other.  We need to change the perceptive and take our kids, brothers and sisters to international tournaments. That is when we will be ending unemployment, " he said. 

 

The move comes after becoming among the top supporters in the Chasimba ward Chigiri Cup Football tournament and later meeting the Bango artists in the county. 

The incoming Senator says nurturing talents is the only best way to help youth in the county.  However, he added that the county needs a Senator who will defend his or her people at the grassroots and in legislation.

 

The match ended 1-0 in favour of the host, Kilifi Ladies.
