Kaloleni ward, Kilifi county, succession battle surprises residents after 64 people declaring contesting for the seat come 2022.
3 of the people who revealed their ambition for the seat comes from the same family. The number has increased from 50 in December 2020.
The ward seat has attracted many aspirants all working hard to unseat the incumbent.
The Kaloleni ward MCA Hon Yasin Moh'd Noordin says the 2022 battle will be tough, though he will be on the ballot as well as the 65th candidate.
He urged the residents to be extra careful in selecting the leaders out of the 64 because the majority are just up and running to chase money and not for developments.
Its neighbour ward, Mariakani has attracted 30 candidates ahead of the upcoming general elections.
