Ukrainian nationals welcomed by Najib Balala photo at JKIA

Tourism CS Najib Balala found himself on the receiving end after welcoming 189 Ukrainian nationals on Sunday.

Kenyans criticised his move for allowing visitors who had a massive number of virus contacted cases to Kenya while locals are confined with just little number of cases.

Ukraine has 2 Million cases with 41, 534 deaths. Ukraine is among the top infected country by the pandemic.

In his message on Twitter, CS Balala welcomed the tourists saying the ministry will work hard to revive the dying sector in the country.

" We are pleased to welcome the 189 passengers - including 21 travel agents, onboard the Ukrainian Chartered flight. We are glad that you chose #MagicalKenya as your destination of choice, " he said.

" and you think this will boost tourism in Kenya? This government needs to shift its policies and strategies and start focusing on self-sustainability policies, " Donnet criticised CS Balala.

" Assuming this tourist landed in the red Zone, will they be allowed to travel to other zones like the Masai Mara? Just asking for a friend, " Caleph Kipkoech asked.

" My friend Caleph, colonialist left but neocolonialist are here with us, no sooner than later those tourists will be granted essential services pass. I thought you should know, " Ronoh call shot off for Caleph.

"Kenyans can't travel from Nairobi but Wazungus from Ukraine will be hopping from hotels, parks and towns at will. Our evolution is slow, " another reacted.
