Wolverhampton Wanderers Premier League clash with Sheffield United this weekend is set to have been rescheduled.
Wolves host the Blades at Molineux in a Saturday 5 pm kick-off but rescheduled to 10.15 PM.
However, the Premier League resolved with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to reschedule to avoid clashing with the funeral of Prince Philip.
A service for the Duke of Edinburgh will take place at Windsor Castle that afternoon and one minute’s silence will be held across the United Kingdom at 3 pm.
“As a mark of respect, EFL matches scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday 17 April will be moved to avoid a clash with the funeral of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” an EFL spokesperson said.
“The EFL will now work with its clubs to determine at what time the matches will be played, considering the timing of the service. An announcement will follow in due course.”
"The Premier League has resolved to reschedule the matches played at that time. No matches will be played during the time of the burial, " a Premier league official stated.
NOTE: Due to the changes done in the Premier League over the Burial of Duke of Edinburgh, the Game has been changed to Newcastle VS Westham
