Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria ask the government to respond to the UK ban on flights from Kenya over the COVID-19 alarm.

Moses Kuria questioned the statehouse to suspend flights from the UK. Although Kuria praised the UK government for putting its citizens' health above anything else, he asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to order the suspension of all UK flights.

Kuria noted the flight discontinuing would also save Kenyans from getting the virus variant being reported in the United Kingdom.

"I applaud the UK government for adding Kenya to the countries on the quarantine list. This will save many Kenyans from getting the UK variant. I now expect the Kenyan government to follow suit and ban the UK nationals from visiting Kenya or at least put them on a 21-day quarantine upon arrival," he urged.

Kenya was among four countries computed to the UK’s red list and black book raising anxieties about new COVID-19 variants. In Kenya, the British High Commission said the new restrictions for entering the UK commence Friday, April 9.

Other countries added to the red list are the Philippines, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
