UDA, a party associated with DP William Ruto has begun countrywide registration of aspirants for various elective positions in readiness for the 2022 General Election.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which postponed its grassroots election now will hold its grassroots elections next month.

Party Secretary-General Veronica Maina declared yesterday that the polls which were to be carried on June 18 have been pushed to the last week of the month due to logistical issues.

“The elections date will however be delivered by the speed at which we register members.

We need to have numbers to hold elections. Registration is going well and we are hopeful that by the set date we will have registered a good number of members,” Maina said.

Maina spoke during a meeting for candidates drawn from 11 counties to prepare them for the upcoming exercise.

They included those from Nairobi, Murang’a, Wajir, Kajiado, Machakos, Makueni, Mandera, Siaya, Nyamira, Kiambu and Garissa counties.
