Incoming Kilifi Senator George Kithi. 


Incoming Kilifi Senator George Kithi visited Magarini to launch a Pineapple planting initiative - Pineapple planting drive- that will see the program run annually to boost crop farming.


Former CEC Mwalimu Menza who was present insisted that lawyer George Kithi has been helping the community by advising the county government on legal matters.


Speaking at Marafa PEFA church, Magarini, Mwalimu Menza welcomed the incoming Senator saying the community has long forgotten in terms of farming.


The incoming Senator George Kithi was heading to Chamari for a Pineapple planting drive.


Lawyer George Kithi said he wants to change the narrative of native politics around the county by introducing competitive and beneficial politics.


In the planting drive, Chasimba incoming MCA Charles Chigiri said the community has been abandoned by the county leadership and farmers have struggled in marketing the products and value addition.


Chonyi council of elders led by Mzee Daniel Runya Ngamba insisted on the move to empower the community through farming.


He said that Agriculture is the backbone of the community and must be taken seriously.


Speaking at PEFA church, the lawyer called on the women to form groups or initiatives of empowerment and seek support from the relevant offices.


He added that when elected the Senator, he will also push for more funds for women in bridging the gender equality workmanship in the county.


He also gave a team of Women leaders to support the initiatives.


The lawyer added that he is ready to fight for the people through legislation of the local crops.


He added that there are no crops legislated from the Coastal region apart from the newly Bixa which was introduced to the parliament for debate and inclusion by Matuga MP Kassim Tandaza.


Others present at the event include Amb. Sophy Kombe, MCA's, Kilifi mums chair lady Kibibi Ali among others.
